The Beaches

The Beaches—or “the Beach,” as locals affectionately know it—offers a charming small-town feel, along with the famous Boardwalk, endless recreation and miles of lakeside beauty (until 1930, the area served as “cottage country” for Toronto residents). From lush side streets—lined with semis, large Victorians and Edwardians, and even larger new builds—proud residents join welcome tourists in strolling the Queen Street strip, taking in the never-ending excitement: from seasonal concerts and fairs to unique shopping and lounging in the specialty stores, cafés and restaurants. One caveat: must love dogs.
