After serving the community for over 200 years, the St. Lawrence Market was recently named one of the world’s “top 10 food markets” by National Geographic. So, calling this rustic area “home” comes with its inherent bragging rights. But, if condo living’s your thing, it gets even better. This lively and colourful neighbourhood brings an endless array of quality cafés, pubs and restaurants, including those on The Esplanade; an abundance of cultural hotspots, including theatres and performing-arts venues; and leading attractions, including the Flatiron Building, one of Toronto’s most photographed structures. A short hike east, meanwhile, reveals the historic Distillery District—with additional upscale condos amid charming cobblestone streets, extra-intriguing architecture and “old town” vibe. If you’re thinking about either of these fine neighbourhoods, make sure you look the part. Between tourists and movie shoots, you may end up in a lot of pictures.
