Regent Park is undergoing a remarkable transition that will mean big changes and exciting opportunities for residents new and old. A revitalization plan that is rebuilding the neighbourhood for 12,500 residents in 6 phases over 15 years, changing what was once a solely social housing development to creating a mixed-income, mixed-use community. The plan includes the replacement of the 2,083 existing social housing units in Regent Park with new, energy efficient, modern units and the introduction of approximately 3,000 market units for sale. The plan includes diverse architecture, expanding and reconnecting the road networks, and adding new pedestrian-friendly streets maintained by the City.
